Andreas Nygaard wins the 2026 Fossavatn Race

Norwegian Andreas Nygaard won the 50 km Fossavatn Ski Race with a time of 02:22:34.8. Andreas was nearly two minutes ahead of the next man to cross the finish line, Czech Stanislav Rezac, with a time of 02:24:10.9. Third was the Italian Riccardo Mich, with a time of 02:25:19.4.

The first woman to reach the finish line was Sophia Velicer, who competes for Taiwan. She finished with a time of 02:51:32.6, and Sophia was also the winner of the 25 km Fossavatn Free Style, which took place on Thursday. Second among the women was Annika Landis from the United States, with a time of 02:55:29.8, and third was Norway's Lea Stabæk Wenaas with a time of 02:55:35.2.

Conditions for the race could hardly have been better: excellent track and wonderful weather, temperatures around 0°C, more or less clear skies, and a light breeze.
