Norwegian cross-country star Anders Aukland has announced that he will be racing in Fossavatnsgangan in Ísafjörður, Iceland, next April.
This super-veteran is a household name in the world of cross-country skiing. During his successful career he has won relay gold medals at both Olympics and World Championships, he has thirteen World Cup podiums to his name as well as wins in some of the most prestigious ski races in the world, such as Vasaloppet, Birkebeinerennet and Marcialonga. He was also twice the overall winner of the Ski Classics series.
As an instrumental player in establishing the Ski Classics series, and as one of the leaders of the „double poling revolution “, Anders Aukland has actively helped shape and develop our sport in recent decades.
Now in his fifties, Aukland continues to be active and influential, and Fossavatnsgangan really looks forward to welcoming him to the start line this winter.
