Fossavatnsgangan has signed an agreement with Ski Classics' management company, WSAB, for a live broadcast from the Fossavatnsgangan 2024. A broadcasting team with specialized equipment will be flown in from abroad, to film and broadcast the competition worldwide.
Ski Classics is a series of 60 long distance cross-country ski races on four continents, where professionals and amateurs compete side by side. All the world's biggest ski competitions are part of the series, including the Swedish Vasaloppet.
According to Bobbi, Kristbjörn Róbert Sigurjónsson, a board member of the Fossavatnsgangnan, the broadcast will be a great lever for the race. "It increases our visibility and elevates the race in many ways," says Bobbi.
